Day 0: (Mon) ARRIVAL IN MADRID

A panoramic city tour of Madrid in the morning will be the first step in your northern Spain itinerary 10 days. You will discover the medieval origins of the city such as the Arab fortress, at the Barrio de la Morería, famous for its historic buildings.

Cross the Habsburg courtesan quarter, characterized by Philip II and its Renaissance and Baroque buildings. Then, the Puerta del Sol, the Plaza Mayor, and the Plaza de la Villa; the Madrid of the Bourbons and the complex urban plans of Charles III, the Royal Palace, the Cibeles, and Neptuno Fountains and the Puerta de Alcalá. Admire 19th century works such as the Prado Museum.

Later, visit contemporary Madrid with areas such as Gran Vía, Castellana, the Salamanca district, Plaza Castilla, and Parque del Oeste. Also, head to the commercial and financial areas of Modern Madrid like the emblematic Las Ventas arena and the Santiago football stadium Bernabéu.

Next, enjoy the free afternoon to explore the wonders the city has to offer. Accommodation and overnight at the hotel.

Day 2: (Wed) MADRID - ZARAGOZA - SAN SEBASTIAN

Transfer to the bus station after breakfast. Then, departure at 08:30 am towards Zaragoza. Free time to visit the Basilica of Our Lady of Pilar, patron saint of Hispanicism, and stroll through the old streets of Zaragoza.

In the afternoon, we will continue to San Sebastian, it's one of the most famous tourist destinations where they organize the International Film Festival. Indeed, you enjoy a panoramic tour of this bourgeois town with marvelous style and an extraordinary landscape dominated by the bay and the magnificent La Concha beach.

Day 3: (Thu) SAN SEBASTIAN - BILBAO - CASTRO URDIALES - SANTANDER

Day 4: (Fri) SANTANDER - SANTILLANA - COVADONGA - OVIEDO

Today we are leaving for Santillana, one of the most important historic-artistic cities in Spain. It contains architectural treasures such as the Collegiate Church of Santa Juliana, a jewel of Romanesque architecture in Cantabria. Then, continue your itinerary to Covadonga, where you will have free time to see the sanctuary and the cave where you will see the patron saint of Asturias Our Lady of Covadonga.

In the afternoon, departure for Oviedo. It's a place where you will see a series of hills and the Church of St. Mary of Naranco, with a jewel of pre-Roman Asturian architecture.

Finally, you will have free time to explore Oviedo. Many of its streets are pedestrianized. You can see World Heritage sites like the cathedral, a splendid example of Asturian Gothic architecture. Overnight at your hotel.

Day 5: (Sat.) OVIEDO - LUGO - A CORUÑA

The fifth day takes you to the Galician region. Arrival in Lugo. Then, Free time to admire the Roman vestiges which are still preserved as its walls, declared World Heritage Site. Next, continue to La Coruña.

Brief panoramic drive through the main avenues of this fabulous northern Spain city via Marine Avenue to admire the elegance of this town. with its Galician architecture, admire typical galleries of glasshouses.

Next, enjoy a brief stop in one of the wonders of the world, the oldest active lighthouse, the “Tower of Hercules” dating from Roman times.

After lunch, enjoy a free afternoon where you can attend an optional visit to the Rias Altas.

Santiago de Compostela has been declared World Heritage because it is one of the most important centers of Christian pilgrimages in Spain.

You give a visit to this northern Spain city where we will see the main square called Obradoiro. Also, you visit the cathedral (entrance included) dedicated to the apostle Santiago. The rest of the day at your leisure to explore the narrow cobbled streets and feel the atmosphere of the students.

Finally, overnight and accommodation at your hotel.

Day 7: (Mon) SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA - RIAS BAJAS - LA TOJA - VIGO

Now you have spent a week from you northern Spain itinerary, today you will head to one of the most wonderful regions of Galicia: the Rias Bajas (Spanish fjords).

Crossing this magnificent landscape to arrive at the island of La Toja, known worldwide for its spa. Then, enjoy free time and continue to the Ria de Arosa, passing through Pontevedra to reach Vigo, located in the middle of the Rias Baixas.

Day 8: (Tue) VIGO - VIANA DO CASTELO - BRAGA

Your journey of 10 days will continue in Viana do Castelo, in Portugal, a city located between the mouth of the Miño river and Porto.

Day 9: (Wed) BRAGA - SALAMANQUE - MADRID

This morning we return to the Spanish border to arrive in Salamanca. A small stop and free time in this university city (world heritage) with great architectural and artistic wealth. Later, we continue to Madrid.
